DYU T1 folding e-bike with torque sensor and 20 inch wheels
The DYU T1 folding e-bike is an electric folding bike with 20 inch wheels, a magnesium frame and a 250W motor with a torque sensor. The removable, lockable 36V 10Ah battery provides assistance up to 25 km/h. With Shimano 7-speed gears and mechanical disc brakes front and rear, it suits riders of roughly 160 to 193 cm and up to 120 kg.
The torque sensor measures how hard you pedal and gives proportional assistance. It feels like normal cycling, just lighter, without jerky starts. With 20 inch wheels the T1 rides more smoothly than a mini folding bike, and when folded you can take it on the train or in the car boot, or store it in a small space.

E-bike rules in the Netherlands
In the Netherlands, an electric bike counts as a regular bicycle (pedelec) if the motor has a maximum rated power of 250W and only assists while you pedal, up to 25 km/h. A throttle or a purely electric riding mode that works above 6 km/h falls outside those rules: the bike is then classed as a moped requiring a registration plate, insurance and a driving licence. Tuning is not permitted. The T1 assists via a torque sensor up to 25 km/h with a 250W motor.

What is the advantage of a torque sensor?
A torque sensor measures your pedalling force: the harder you pedal, the more assistance you get. That feels more natural than a cadence sensor, which only detects whether you are pedalling.
How far can I ride on the DYU T1?
Expect around 30 to 36 km per battery charge, depending on weight, wind and assist level. With a low assist level and little wind, you'll go further.
Can I charge the T1 battery separately?
Yes, the battery is removable and can be locked with a key, so you can charge it indoors.
Can I take the folded T1 on the train?
Yes, on Dutch Railways (NS) a folded folding bike travels free of charge as hand luggage.
